Seems like such a simple task, doesn’t it? Washing your swimwear after a trip to the pool or the beach shouldn’t be hassle, but it is. If you’re anything like me, then you think rinsing your suits off while you’re in the shower is good enough. Wrong! Don’t make mistakes that will ensure your favorite swimsuit doesn’t last until the end of the summer.
Music is freedom and my soul dances to it even when no one else is. Sometimes you’ll catch me doing a little two-step but there’s no music playing. Don’t worry, I’m not crazy. I hear it inside of me. That’s when I can close my eyes and just be free. Summer music festivals like Hangout Fest are a great time for me to express my inner tiny dancer without any inhibitions.
Relaxing on the beach, taking in the sun I’m reminded of the many blessings I have. I’ve got my health, my brain, and my unyielding determination to make it. I’ve been raised in a country where women have a chance to create their own way. Unfortunately that’s not the case in many places. It is because of this reason that for severalk years I’ve supported the efforts of Sseko Designs, an ethical fashion brand that helps women in Uganda earn money to put toward a college education and get out of poverty. These courageous women put in hard work to create really cute sandals and accessories. This season I’m super excited to sport Sseko Designs’ new leather t-strap sandal with interchangeable accents. Innovative and stylish!
Can you feel it? Spring fever is turning into summer lovin’. The days are getting longer and the sun seems to be shining brighter. Nothing but good vibes and good times are on the horizon. The summer makes me nostalgic for a time that I didn’t even live through. Classic Americana. Peace signs, tie dye, denim bellbottoms, and flower power. Makes me want to listen to that Sly and the Family Stone song Hot Fun in the Summertime on repeat. All of that free spirited bohemian style is making a comeback this year, so why not embrace it.
There’s something incredibly satisfying about looking at an accessory or fancy cupcakes and thinking “Yeah, I made that!” Sure, you can easily go to a store and buy it, but the feeling isn’t the same. Even if it’s not the best of the best at least you can pat yourself on the back for the creation. We take pride in our own workmanship. Creating something with your bare hands makes you feel like when humans first created the wheel. Triumphant! So when Erica of P.S. – I Made This… invited me to a DIY fiesta, I was super excited. Crafting, here I come!
