Welcome to the weekend. You’ve got a couple days to relax and release, and I’ve got a good idea on exactly how you can do that. Hint: it involves stuffing your belly. I often feel that Americans work too hard and don’t know how to properly indulge in the good life. We don’t take long vacations and we don’t know how not be stressed out. But what we do know how to do very well is EAT. Y’all know I’m a sucker for comfort food and brunch is my business. If I could eat grits, eggs, bacon and biscuits all day, you know I would and then I’d be pleasantly plump in all the right places. Back to my original point. If you’re in La-la Land, you might want to get a taste of the sweet life and on hop on over to one of the city’s best new spots, Terrine.
I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream. Y’all should know by now that I have a huge sweet tooth. I’m blaming this on my Southern upbringing and the fact that my mother loves to bake. For holidays she and my sister whip up tons of cakes, pies, and cookies like machines. If only my family knew how to make ice cream, then we could combine our desserts into one mega superhero sweet treat called the ice cream sandwich. Aah yes. I know this thing already exists, and one of LA’s best, Carmela Ice Cream, does it oh so well.
Eating healthy can sometimes be a challenge. We get busy with our jobs and our day-to-day hustle and stuff our bellies with bad foods. Although I try to eat well, I’m still guilty of chowing down fried foods and sweets. It’s the Southerner in me. This year I’m trying to push myself to do better and consume things that are good for me. With a big shoot coming up tomorrow that’s going to have me in almost nothing, I figured now would be a great opportunity for a juice cleanse. I got up early this morning and went to my new fave spot Juice Served Here to get my drink on.
I always say you’ve got to eat to live. For guys that means an endless smorgasbord of meat, meat, and more meat, unless of course he’s vegan or pescetarian. Occasionally they’ll throw some veggies or grains in the mix and maybe a dessert or two. For this edition of Model Bites, I wanted to try something manly which is a little difficult for me since I don’t like stuff. And by stuff I mean all the extra fixings dudes like to pile on food especially sandwiches. It can get messy, but they like it. So I went somewhere with yummy goodness that both guys and dolls can enjoy…Simplethings.
People like to eat. People like to see pictures of food. I like eating food, so this new column is the perfect recipe for my blog. Introducing Model Bites. I was so inspired by all the delicious Instagram photos and the chatter about models and their eating habits that showcasing my appetite for yumminess only makes sense. I hope you enjoy. For the first installment, I visited Napa Valley Grille in Westwood to see what dishes the chef’s cooking up this season.
